I have done what you suggested. Thanks.
I am a 50 year old retired Navy officer (USS Harlan County LST-1196 was my first ship).
That's how a commanding officer speaks.
@USS Harlan County (LST-1196)
Commissioned USS Harlan County (LST-1196), 8 April 1972, CDR. Vernon C. Smith in command
Decommissioned, 14 April 1995
Transferred (loaned) to Spain, renamed Pizarro (L-42), and commissioned into the Spanish Navy, 14 April 1995
Sold outright to Spain, 27 April 2000
Now, either you're Vernon C. Smith or some other commanding officer (as indicated by your comment) or you never were the commanding officer of that ship and you only served aboard her. Which is it?
