I know a lot of people here like to make fun of Dick Morris, but he nailed this on BOR last night. When there isn’t a crisis to exploit, they fall back to lies and manufacture one.
Stephy did their dirty work by launching the first salvo in the War on Contraception. Morris uncovered the conspiracy, now Rush is commenting on it, so you can be sure it will be ridiculed and dismissed by Jon Stewart, the Late Night Hosts and Pundit Class, and used to humiliate any conservative who brings it up.
But meanwhile, Democrat donors will be signing checks to save the country from evil Republicans who want to ban birth control pills.
That’s exactly what they did here in Illinois in 2010.
Illinois Democrats couldn’t talk about the economy, because they’ve destroyed it here over the last ten years. They’re couldn’t blame it on Republicans, because they’ve had complete power here. So they changed the subject by accusing Republicans of wanting to kill women through breast cancer by not giving them mammograms. They’ll just make it up. The more outrageous the charge, the more people will remember it, and believe it because they assume (wrongly) that it must be true because you can’t just lie about something that blatant.
It worked, and Illinois Democrats were re-elected.
These people are Obama’s mentors. Obama will use the same playbook.
