When my son was young(gonna be 40 soon) I always tried to get some of the jr. High teens from church to babysit. They played with him, read, spent time etc. The girls just were on the phone or tried to sneak in their boyfriends.
I don’t recall how old I was, but too old in my mind to be “babysat” for. I also know that I was old enough to request the hot teenage girl from across the street!
Yes, I did that. We made up games. It was fun.
