“Why do people spend millions to get a job that pays in the low six figures?”

One of congress is made up of lawyers. The question to ask is what good lawyer would settle for $175,000 per year salary. The answer is NONE. Congress has evolved into the most sophisticated organized crime syndicate this world has ever known. The worst of it all they get to write the laws such as exemption from insider trading. We need to start with forbidding any gifts, etc.. from lobbyists and stop congress from stock trading. Read Abramoffs book on lobbying it is just as damning as ‘throw them all out’. These books should be mandatory reading in our schools.

It’s not just individuals. They’re like a conglomerate - writing and selectively enforcing tax laws and regulations to help or hinder the cause of those paying for the privilege. It’s all done within a maze of bait-and-switch and accountability-laundering.
