I too am a Gingrich fan, I personally think he may be the only person alive that might have a chance at really fixing our problems. I have volunteered for his Campaign and donated money... BUT, none of that matters if he can't beat that SOB Romney.
I desperately want Gingrich to win, but he just can't compete against the billion dollar Romney slime machine. He just has too much baggage.
I have never wanted to be wrong so much than to have to say what I just said, but the truth is the truth.
I respect you for supporting Gingrich and I don't know what state you live in and when you will get a chance to vote. But I would encourage you to vote strategically. If Gingrich is polling a distant 3rd when the race gets to your state and Santorum has a chance of beating Romney I ask that you consider not throwing your vote away. Especially if you live in a winner take all state.
Now if things are close and it's basically a 3 way tie, then sure! vote for Gingrich, I would do the same. But just don't waste your vote on someone who has no chance, it's basically the same as voting 3rd party then.
That's a good idea, and right now, "strategic" means working toward a brokered convention, after Romney is prevented from winning a clear majority of delegates pre-convention, and where the majority of convention delegates will be for NOTT-Romney, and some principled conservative will be chosen after the first round of pledged votes produces no clear majority.
Neither Romney nor Santorum will be such a "principled conservative" to be selected at convention.
In the meantime, we need Santorum to win the mid-west and northern union states, which he probably will, and for Gingrich to win the southern and western conservative states, and hold Romney to win in only the few tiny northeast communist states (and Utah, which is a separate planet), which he probably will.
