And I read somewhere, though I have no idea of the accuracy of it, that Huckabee was still in the race when he endorsed Willard... if that really was the case, it adds a new layer of hypocrisy...

I am fairly certain that is the case. It is not something I hold against Santorum, however. While I am far from a Mitt or Santorum fan, Mitt would have been much preferable to McCain or the Huckster at that point in time.

This is true. Huckabee asked Santorum on Huckabee’s show a few weeks ago why he endorsed Romney instead of Huckabee, and Santorum basically looked sheepish and said it was just a calculated move based on who he thought could beat McCain at that time.
