There is no doubt that Santorum will be taken down and that will be easy to do. Mitt is in a tough spot. He can't take Santorum down before Newt is really dead, or Newt will surge again. If Romney waits too long, Mitt might not recover.

Newt is in a tough spot relative to going after Santorum too. He is danged if he does, danged if he doesn't. My preference is for Newt to go after Santorum in the near future, regardless of what Mitt does.
