Santorum is the person at the bottom of everyone’s list of acceptable candidates.
He doesn’t stink but doesn’t smell very good either. He’s a career politician who lost his seat in a landslide defeat to one of the dumbest senators in congress today.
And unlike Newt, he’s an establishment candidate who endorsed Specter (who voted for Obamacare), and Romney in the primary of ‘08. He’s on record saying he’s against the tea party.
Santorum vs. Obama will be painful to watch. I hope there’s a better solution.
Give me a break! That Specter thing is old news. It was a bad decision but we got Justices Roberts and Alito in the process. Come on.
“And unlike Newt, hes an establishment candidate who endorsed Specter”
And Newt passionately endorsed Scozzafava in NY-23 and lambasted conservatives for supporting the more conservative candidate.
Cool it with personal smears.
In 2006 the entire GOP was wiped out thanks to the ABC News Mark Foley October surprise and the Iraqi war trashing with no Bush counter attack to justify the war.
Second newt has never run or won a state wide race only gerrymandered congressional races so he is the inexperienced one here .
And unlike Newt, hes an establishment candidate
The notion that Gingrich is not “establishment” is laughable. He’s been a Washington insider forever.
Coming from an anti-Perry troll like you, however, I understand your political ignorance.
Mustering all the enthusiasm I can:
I guess I’d vote for Santorum over Obama.
If Santorum meets the standard of being a "career politician" or an "establishment candidate" then certainly Newt does as well - that's embarrassing for you to claim Santorum is but not Gingrich. Specter had not voted for Obamacare in 2004 at the time of the endorsement and had previously been a staunch opponent of nationalized healthcare and was one of the architects in crafting the message that helped to defeat it the previous time it had been tried - with regard to healthcare that was what was on Specter's resume in 2004, not the vote 6 years later. He is not on record as being 'against' the tea party he is on record as being against focusing only on economic issues and leaving other issues by the wayside (i.e. Ron Paul).
Well, there are two sides to that story... The following was released by Santorum's campaign in response to 0bamney's claim regarding Santorum and the Tea Party:
"Rick Santorum has been praised for being a Tea Party candidate when there was no Tea Party, and has been a staunch supporter," Gidley told Fox News in an email statement. "The reason the Tea Party exists is because of government health care mandates, job-crushing cap-and-tax legislation, the big bank bail outs, and forms of amnesty. Those issues were all supported by Newt Gingrich, Nancy Pelosi, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama."That left a mark!

When did Santorum say anything like that?
Casey was also trading on his fathers name, although he was as much like his Dad as Ronnie Reagan’s is like his.
