Santorum isn't a liberal by any stretch. That said Santorum doesn't understand the Constitution.
Santorum:
"The rights within our Constitution, they are not unlimited rights. There is and can be limitations on them...There are limitations to all freedoms. There are not absolute rights."
And he's no Ronald Reagan....

They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can’t go it alone.”
Reagan:

That is completely ridiculous. Most people have not even voted yet. What Rick has done is express his principles to those who have voted and they liked what they saw and heard from him. It is not up to us to “square away” a candidate. That is up to the candidate and staff themselves. If anyone has not been passing the mustard than that is the fault of ONLY the candidate and his staff. To blame the miraculous and incredibly great things happening with Santorum on us is great but not accurate. I am so honored you think so though.
