Why is this a good thing? The only thing we really know for sure about him --- his unrelenting and often seen as sanctimonious pro-life social focus --- is precisely what will turn off the majority of Americans, particularly women.
But, let's cross our fingers and hope there's nothing in his tax returns. Let's cross our toes and hope he doesn't sign another TARP, let's just cover our eyes and ignore that he has neither private sector management NOR Congressional management experience.
But, hell, I'll play: YEAH!!! SANTORUM WILL SAVE US!! WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' PENNSYLVANIA TO WIN IN NOVEMBER!!
This thing is very volatile.
You just may well have to eat your own sarcastic, aspersion-casting words in the future and wear a Santorum for President button in the fall. Just sayin'.

in other words, you hate him not because he’s a RINO but because he actually is a conservative. Gotcha.

Rick is now the strongest GOP candidate in PA. Apparently we Keystone Staters are a bunch of knuckle dragging Papists.
Let's cross our toes and hope he doesn't sign another TARP
Santorum didn't vote or tarp or the GM bailout nor was he for it.
PA voter here. I was part of the reason Santorum lost his last bid for senate. I was so disheartened over Rick's support of Specter, I was just another de-energized voter.
However, in this race, I have to get behind Santorum or Gingrich. I'll overlook both Newt's serial adultery and Rick's support of Specter. Santorum actually has a better shot of Pennsylvania union support than anybody else in this race, including Obama. Most union guys I know don't care about gay marriage, and while most are pro-life, they aren't willing to vote to save a baby over their job. Accusations of "sanctimonious" won't drive the union vote away and promise of manufacturing jobs just may attract it. People in PA are pretty ticked off about Obama and that pipeline business.
Hey WRONG_in_Makebelieveland ? How could Rick have voted for those things, TARP and the bail outs for GM when Rick left the Senate in Jan of 2007 ? tell me how that could have happen in your alternate universe ? Rick lost his 2006 bid for the Senate and left in Jan of 2007... once again ? how could he have voted for the bail outs and TARP ?
WE DON’T NEED NO STINKIN’ PENNSYLVANIA TO WIN IN NOVEMBER!!
Yes we do! lol. I love it. This sure is fun. I can’t wait to run to the polling center instead of having to be dragged with the rest of them.
You neatly demonstrates why Libertarians will never win, in one sentence.
It’s a “good thing” to keep Mittens from getting the nomination.
Both Newt and Santorum are contributing to that all important goal.
Again, Rick is in a dead heat with Romney in PA.
I’m a woman, and only vote for pro-life candidates.
Don’t be afraid of pro-life candidates. Remember Ronald Reagan, and even George Bush is pro-life.
It doesn’t hurt to be a social conservative, not at all:
“Republican Bob Turner won handily over the Democratic candidate in a district that no a Republican has won since 1923. His opponent’s vote in favor of same-sex “marriage” in the New York legislature played an important role in the Republican’s victory.”
