Fox News Poll: Santorum Surges Nationally After Three-State Sweep By Dana Blanton February 10, 2012
Rick Santorum has surged nationally in the race for the 2012 Republican nomination after his three-state sweep this week, while Mitt Romney has lost ground among GOP primary voters. In addition, most GOP voters say the nomination race isnt over -- someone other than Romney could still win. Thats according to a Fox News poll released Friday.
The new poll was conducted over four nights this week -- Monday through Thursday -- so it provides a unique opportunity to compare Santorums support before and after his wins in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. And the results are striking.

In interviews conducted on Monday and Tuesday nights -- immediately before the news of his victories -- Santorum received the backing of 17 percent of GOP primary voters. That was well behind Romney (35 percent) and Newt Gingrich (26 percent), and slightly ahead of Ron Paul (14 percent).
In interviews conducted on Wednesday and Thursday nights -- after his wins -- Santorums support nearly doubled, which put him tied at the top with Romney for those two days at 30 percent. Thats an increase of 13 percentage points. Over the last two nights, Romney also received 30 percent, a drop of 5 points. Gingrich came in at 16 percent, down 10 points. Pauls support held steady at 15 percent.
Looking at the results from all four nights of this weeks interviewing, Romney retains his frontrunner spot with 33 percent, followed by Santorum at 23 percent, Gingrich at 22 percent and Paul at 15 percent.

Gawd, you're funny! :^D
(I bet secretly you're hoping I AM Ann Coulter--rather than just a regular American who loves her country too much to see this opportunity squandered on Father Santorum)
But, thanks for the chuckle. Come back real soon.
WHAT about Turncoat Santorum's support of Mitt Romney in 2008???
I’m going to take a different angle here and say that if Rick is nominated the issue no longer will be on jobs or the economy but will squarely be on his social conservatism views.
With Rick the opposition will never have to even mention the economy but will fill the airwaves with how this social conservative will set back the rights of women and all other minority groups.
However, I will STILL go out and VOTE for him, campaign for him and call people for him if he is nominated...as I would for Newt and even for mittens (but the prospect of that is making me hurl at this moment...excuse me while I get my bucket!).
THAT is cool looking!!!
I love the color combination.
I refuse to put a bumper on my truck... it just doesn’t look right to me on a truck that cost me more than 50k, BUT, I think I could live with something like that, of an appropriate size.
EXCELLENT JOB.
Yep, it must be the Santoro folks who have given Newt his 60% nationwide disapproval rate, who caused Newt to run up a $200,000 bill at Tiffany's, who caused Newt to whine in Florida, etc. etc. etc.
And now that I think of it, probably the same kinda cynics and negative blowhards who caused Christine O and Sharron A to bomb out in Nov. 2010.
Gotta stay a little intellectual -— or at least try to.
It will be interesting to see what the Romney machine (and I am sure it is them and not obama, who is saving his ammunition for the Nominee)will use to sink this current closest contender.
My personal observations:
1. The Closest Contender to Romney (Palin, Bachman, Perry, Cain, and Newt, in succession)gets smeared with allegations that can’t be proven.
2. It happens on or close to the eve of a Straw poll, A Caucus, or a Primary
3. It is always something of a salacious nature
Just sayin’
... but in 2008 Santorum was very high on Mitt. Santorum actively campaigned for Romney through the Republican primary. In this 2008 video from a Super Bowl kick-off party at a Dave & Buster's in Missouri, Santorum endorses Romney as a conservative who speaks with with clarity, with conviction, with the heart and the mind together which is what conservatives want to hear."

I remember your style of hand wringing a few years ago from folks like George Will that thought that the Conservative favorite was too out of the mainstream to be elected and that the more moderate choice was needed to be pushed. That was the 1980 election where Howard Baker and then Bush 1 were said to be way more electable than Reagan in the General.
Abraham Lincoln 2012 !!!
Let's not get too overwhelmed with Mr. Santorum’s “surge”.
2012 is too important an election year to get swept away by emotion or wishful thinking or both.
No NEWT NO!!!!
“go back to youre couch with pelosi.”
That is a tired argument. If you think there is any comparison between the people we had to vote for in ‘08 and now, you are mistaken. McLame was by far the worst choice that year and Romney was the only one left near the end to take him out. The only reason he was able to cobble any Conservative support in the end was because of his choice of VP.
So we are staking our hopes on a guy that couldnt win his own seat in his own state?
Oh brother. Haters all around. He won 4 out of 5 elections. How many statewide elections did Newt win?
How could have Rick voted for Tarp when he was not even in the Senate when that vote came up ? or voted to bail out GM ? the Newt supporters keep lying about Rick’s record... same sleaze as the Mitt Romney machine... Rick left the Senate in Jan 2007..

Some more interesting Santorum's tidbits found so far:
Voted against National Right to Work Act
Voted against Real of Davis-Bacon Prevailing union wages
Voted for Alexis Herman to be Secretary of Labor
Voted for mandatory Federal child care funding
Voted for Trade Adjustment Assistance.
Voted for Job Corps funding
Voted twice in support of Fedex Unionization
Voted against allowing a waiver of Davis-Bacon in emergency situations.
Voted for minimum wage increases six times
Voted to require a union representative on an IRS oversight board.
Voted to exempt IRS union representative from criminal ethics laws.
Voted against creating independent Board of Governors to investigate IRS abuses ...
Voted for Sonia Sotomayor's appointment to appellate court.
Hey WRONG_in_Makebelieveland ? How could Rick have voted for those things, TARP and the bail outs for GM when Rick left the Senate in Jan of 2007 ? tell me how that could have happen in your alternate universe ? Rick lost his 2006 bid for the Senate and left in Jan of 2007... once again ? how could he have voted for the bail outs and TARP ?
“Make no mistake, Romney can easily beat Santorum.”
Yes, Romney can and he will. That will give us 4 more years of the corrupt-white hating-getto organizing-flimflam man-socialist muslim-anti Christian-liar-country wrecking-America hating- bastard son of a communist whore.
Oh well, we can always ‘hope’ that our grandchildren will find a way to rise from the ashes.
..... GO NEWT GO—its about the survival of our country!!
