England did something much like this. First it is a $25 per year fee. Then they raise it to $250. Then to $2,500. Then when you don't register your gun they don't arrest you for gun ownership, but for tax evasion. No second amendment protection for tax evasion.

A fair and just government - abiding by the Constitution - has no need to worry about an armed populace.

The only reason any government - local, state, or national - needs to know WHO has guns is for confiscation.

The right of the people to be armed is the ONLY reason the USA has always been free, and the 2nd Amendment makes sure all of the other amendments, as well as the Constitution, stays in place.

If people can't see the parallels between what the obama progressives are doing in terms of disarming, censorship, ablolishment of religion, abolishment of private property, and violation of personal privacy, the the idiots need to live a confiscatory life under a tyrant.

We are well on our way to that end.

The obama, reid, pelosi trifecta must be moved out of any position of power if we are to remain a free nation.

I thought at one time we would be saved by the mass outpouring of the Tea Party movement, but it appears the media and the left (as well as the establishment GOP) have neutered the TPM.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel wants lawmakers to require that all handguns in Illinois be registered with the state, or gun owners could face felony charges.

I'm pretty sure the writer did NOT mean to say that if that if lawmakers do not require handgun registration then gun owners could face felony charges.

In Illinois when a Dem politician is up against a wall he or she reaches for gun control. So I assume one or more of the cults of the Lib/Dem regime are pressing him on some other issue dealing with what really matters in this state, money. The fat ass unionized teachers of Chicago have been in the news lately, being at loggersheads with Rahm, so I’m guessing this is addressed to his dimwitted base in an effort to roll his “allies.”

A “twofer” for liberals, guns registered and a $65 fee to do so. I don’t see that fee staying at $65 for very long, that’s for sure. For liberals, what’s not to like about Rahm’s proposal?

Pray for our adoption procedure to hurry up and happen for the two kids we are adopting, so my family can do some serious real estate shopping in another state (probably Missouri).

We have lived, worked and raised a family here for more than 40 years and I no longer have any hope that Illinois will allow it’s citizens their God given rights to defend themselves with any kind of “carry” law.

We are beyond sick of this high tax liberal crap hole and yearn for freedom.
