I think this case might be the exception to that rule. Plenty of people were angry about the bailout, and I think the ads, while they might have been perceived that way by a few, would have resonated with more buyers than they offended, thus being a net positive.
The ad was pretty poor reflection of the American spirit.
Forget about the politics, how about the tone and look of the ad... grey and somber, with lots of people with grim looks on their faces. The background music was dirge-like. Eastwood looked and sounded like he was about to croak.
It’s supposed to be halftime in America? More like it’s the wake and we’re heading towards the funeral.
If this ad was supposed to be uplifting and inspiring, it certainly missed the mark. If it was subliminally supposed to demoralize Americans, it was successful.
As for the end of the ad, what does “Imported from Detroit” mean? Is Chrysler saying that Detroit is like a foreign country?
Yes, Obama has been, at best, a HALF TIME President while what America desperately needs is a FULL TIME President. Running as a half time President doesn’t seem very effective as an ad campaign, especially for someone who has been on so many vacations, throwing so many parties.
Detroit has recovered so much that they couldn’t even shoot the ad there.
According the the pack of Lib’s on “Today” this morning, Republicans need to shut up and not critizie Lord Barack’s wonderful economic turn around.
