Terror in Homs: more than 200 killed as Syrian forces fire mortar rounds, tank shells

BEIRUT - Dazed and shocked residents of the battered Syrian protest hub of Homs emerged from their homes on Saturday after a night of terror to search the rubble for loved ones.
Thousands of people flooded the streets of the flashpoint central city to bury more than 200 civilians who were killed in a barrage of mortar rounds and tank shells fired by regime forces, witnesses said.
"Nearly 200 martyrs will be buried in Freedom Park," activist Hadi Abdullah of the General Commission of the Syrian Revolution told AFP in a telephone call from Homs.
He said thousands of people joined funeral processions in Khalidiyeh, the hardest-hit neighbourhood in Homs and a hub of more than 10 months of anti-regime protests.
"The bombardment stopped this morning, and residents emerged to look for the dead and wounded in the debris," said Abdullah.

Iran, the Iraqi Baathists, the Syrian Baathists, the Taliban, and al Qaeda used asymmetrical warfare to tie down the US in Iraq and Afghanistan for the last 11 years. For some reason, we and the rest of the West refuse to use the same tactics to upset the terrorists regimes in that area. When Assad’s dictatorship falls, Iran’s mad mullahs will be isolated. Their outlet and conduit to Lebanon and to their proxies Hezbollah and Arab terrorists like Hamas will be gone. It’s time to use smart, cost effective means to tip the terrorists regimes over.
If Muslims will do this to their own people imagine what they would do to the Jews.
