Woman Tasered in Front of Daughter After Cutting McDonalds Drive-Thru Line

Employees at the McDonalds in Hope Mills, N.C., refused to serve Evangeline Lucca and told her to go to the back of the line. Lucca, 37, refused to move, and blocked the drive-thru for 20 minutes before police arrived on the scene, authorities said.
When deputies arrived, Lucca was "defiant," "would not get off McDonalds property," and was "threatening the deputies," according to Debbie Tanna, a public information officer for the Cumberland County Sherriff's Office.

"Two or three officers entered the car with her and started trying to forcibly drag her out of the car, and that's when you could hear the clicking sound of the Taser one time," Rich told the Fay Observer. "They pulled on her a couple of times, and then they Tased her again, and when they Tased her the second time, she just flopped out of the car like a fish."

Everybody is discounting the approach of SERVE her, AND call the cops. That isn't much of a reward for her in the end.
“Would you like Fries with that?” zzzzzzzzzzzzt Ouch! zzzzzzt OUCH! flop flop flop.
Think of how your own knee would jerk if you were accused of that.
Yeah, thinking the same thing.
Don’t serve her. Close the drive through.Call the police. Send an employee out to take the orders of those in line. Tell them to park, as McDonalds does when your order will take longer. Take the food out to those people as their orders are completed. Tell them there is an ongoing problem and ask them to please take their order away with them so that there will be parking available, if that is a problem.
Maybe they’re set up differently in other parts of the country, but here in NC, there is the backlit menu with speaker for placing an order, a first window with cashier for paying for the order, and a second window for picking up the order. There are gaps between them all, but most often between the pay window and the pick-up window, due to people fumbling for change or digging around for money in a purse or something. That’s where she cut in, going straight to the pick-up window to order, pay and pick up.
Thank God it wasn't a Donut shop...they'd have shot and killed her!!
Daily Mail has a great photo of a laser gun tho.
To all appearances even THAT didn’t happen, doubtless due to some corporate rule about not going out when a difficult customer shows up, because of the litigational dangers.
They know her license plate. It’s sitting right there in view of the order window. Just phone police and let them take care of the unruly customer afterwards, with disorderly conduct charges or whatever.
Very funny when some had hasty schedules to meet./
If people have hasty schedules to keep then I suggest they get off their lazy duffs and GO IN and order.
Have we become such a lazy society that we have forgotten what it was like before driveup windows? If I saw there was a problem and I was in a hurry I would carry my butt inside and order. I’m not a diva.
Your answer is of course the correct one. One other thing I would reccommend is to put a curb in there so no one can cut the line.
There will always be one who will try this. It wouldn’t make any sense to be one if you couldn’t act like one.
Even the US Supreme Court has people that go to drive-ups.
Discretion is so, so the better part of valor. Serve her whilst calling the cops from the back room. If lucky the cops will catch her on the lot, if not she is ID’d by license plate. Either way she loses and innocent customers win.
I agree, but oddly enough on a similar thread a couple of days ago, I expressed a similar sentiment about some jerk who was tased for letting his dogs run loose in a park and then walking away from the ranger who was going to give him a ticket. I was excoriated for expressing such a sentiment. I can only conclude that most of the posters were also inconsiderate dog owners who allow their four legged yappy sh!t factories to run loose on other peoples’ property and in public parks
Seeing her get tazed would have been worth the wait. There are far too many the-rules-apply-to-everyone-but-me types in this country. Now we need to vote the #1 perpetrator of this behavior out of the White House.
It is not correct, I must disagree, I am sorry. Other people have to be thought of, and no the woman will not go unpunished.
At best you can apply this value judgment only to you. And why didn’t YOU get off YOUR hypothetical lazy duff, go park and go in? To parrot the argument someone else brought.
She didn’t get zapped for cutting in line. She got zapped for refusing to comply with LEO.
If they’d have already served her and she left, LEO would have no reason to stop her, would they?
“Another one of those people whos more important than everyone else in the world.”
Exactly. She is an arrogant A$$HOLE.
That would not make her un-guilty of disorderly conduct. I disagree. The employees could make the report at leisure instead of inconveniencing all the innocent customers. Suppose she had simply left after sitting there ten minutes but before the cops came. Wouldn't that be the same position if your argument applied? (Which it does not.)
