The players on the teams are from all over the USA. In fact, the teams that represent red areas of the country (Dallas, Tennessee, etc.) have players that hail from blue areas. So if you are rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and their QB comes from a blue state, are you then rooting for the Democrats?
I never put much stock in the "home team". I realize that the local team does not really reflect upon my hometown - unless of course, that team was entirely comprised of players and coaches from my hometown.

Posh. Piffle. Balderdash. NY didn’t give you Hillary. Illinois via Arkansas gave Hillary to all of us. We were just trying to give her back. Although it seems she forgot to take that randy billy goat Bill with her when she went back to D.C. Anyway, that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
