Earlier this week, I thought maybe Santorum was a conservative candidate who could win, and that maybe Gingrich was too damaged to recover. However, now that Santorum is running negative ads against Newt and not going after Romney, I’m starting to think he is not in it to win it; he’s just being a pest.

This is a primary, you go up the food chain. That is what has happened so far. Santorum is trying, rightfully so, to position himself against Romney.

Newt would do the same if the roles were reversed.

He is the only one since Bachmann and Perry to go after Romney on Romneycare. He scored big on that one. He could because he never supported mandates as Newt has.

As far as this ballot thing. Both Newt and Rick have far fewer bucks and lesser ground games. This is what happens when you don’t have a big machine.

This is also what happens when you aren’t flush with cash.
