I doubt that this would happen ever as the Saudis have been "petroleum partners" with America since 1926. While the rest of the oil-producing countries stuck it to the gas guzzlers of the world, the Saudis kept THEIR prices down.
The partnership has also been shown as the Saudi riyal has stayed fairly fixed over the decades. It was at a low of 3.1 riyals to the dollar and is now only 3.75 riyals to the dollar. That's fairly static compared to the beating the dollar has taken from other countries.
I KNOW how un-p.c. and how unpopular it is to say ANYthing positive about the Saudis, but the truth is that they are as close to friends as we will ever have in the Muslim Near/Middle East.
