OK, fine, now how are you going to make sure everyone is 100% pure and how are you ever going to win an election?

“Has Mr. Romney demonstrated, ever, any convictions regarding the proper size and the rightful powers of the government?”

Short answer is no.

The guy has the relationship between government and the people exactly backward. He proved this with his solution to the medical insurance problem in MA. Instead of correctly diagnosing the problem of skyrocketing medical costs as being government intervention in the health care markets that is distorting the pricing mechanisms, he blamed the entire problem on the people - those so called “free-riders.” And so what does he do? He mandates that folks have medical insurance as a consequence of being alive, whether they can afford it or not, or pay a huge fine, which incidentally is cheaper than insurance and doesn’t solve what he calls the “free-rider” problem at all. It simply goes to feed the bureaucracy, which is the problem in the first place.

Romney hasn’t even acknowledged he was wrong, which someone who has seen the free-market conservative light would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that his solution was no solution at all. In fact he is still proud of his achievement, and tries to down play the importance of this policy decision by shrouding it in the 10th Amendment. But that does not cover up this rather naked truth that he is firm believer in “government knows best.”

I don't subscribe to the idea that candidates have to be pure, just on the same page. For instance, I think right now there are two very distinct pages to our current book. A liberal page and a conservative page, with a few kooks who are a bookmark between the two. Our problem this election is that the GOP-e is trying to pick the candidate that lives on the liberal page, but has recently gone on a camping trip to the conservative page. In that sense, Romney is an illegal immigrant.

We only vote for candidates which are not career politicians, and have proven they are interested in upholding the constitution, enacting term limits, and preventing the destruction of our country, our economy, and our society. Candidates that are interested in reforming entitlements and the tax system. They could be from any political party. I am really beginning to think that the party designation has come to be destructive, if anything today. See Romney.
If Romney is considered a republican, then the term truly has no meaning anymore.

And if those candidates can't win elections, due to the ignorance and indifference of the American electorate, then we simply are waiting to hit bottom, and I don't think it's far off.

Then perhaps things will change, but I'm as optimistic about that, as I am that Romney can beat Obama. Romney could probably beat Obama, but only if he challenged him as a fellow democrat.

We are not asking for 100% pure conservative candidate, hell 50% would be nice and with Romney you don’t even get that.

tax cuts-not Romney
Pro life-depends on which day of the week it is with Romney
Strict Constitutional judges-see Romneys previous appts.
Gun control-see previous record, not what he says.
Smaller government—see Romneys previous record and listen to his statements, he is a big gov. lib to the core.

And these are just the basic requirements and he can’t meet those and we are supposed to say what the hell screw even our most basic principles of conservatism and AGAIN vote for yet another liberal POS.
