First things first.
Get your as*es out there and active in your local country Republican organization NOW. Get yourself elected a delegate for the your states spring convention - really MUCH EASIER than you might think.
Start saving up money and time to go to the National Convention. Often, the deciding factor in who goes to that is who has the money and time to part with.
If we aren’t ready and willing to do this, you can bet your boots the Establishment will fill the delegate seats -
And forget your silly ‘other names’ - Stick with who we HAVE - NEWT - otherwise, you’ll be giving it to the enemy, hands down.
I alienated the GOP-E’s by telling them I won’t vote for Romney. In my area, they are the ones who decide.
Is there another way to become a delegate?
Good point about involvement. A brokered convention will go much better for conservatives if conservatives are the ones in the delegate seats.
Unfortunately, I live in Virginia, and the slate of delegates is set, and it’s either Romney’s slate or Paul’s slate. But there are certainly other states where the delegates are up for grabs.
We can figure out who to vote for when we get closer and we know it’s brokered. IN the meantime, the key is to deny Romney delegates, by voting, especially in proportional states where both our candidates can compete together and hurt Romney (like in Nevada, where Gingrich and Santorum could both compete and the more votes either of them get, the fewer delegates Romney will end up with).
