Thousands of people have crisis management and organizational skills, and I don’t want them to be POTUS any more than I want Willard to be POTUS.

This is an indication of precisely those qualities that a good crisis-managing executive needs. I don’t doubt Romney has them. If we had a war to run, he’s probably our man.
Whatever complaints many of us have about him, he is a talented man with abilities far above that of the incumbent.
And also beyond our complaints he is apparently a gentleman of unimpeachable character and temperament.
He does not deserve the contempt he receives here and elsewhere.
The problems with him closing the deal are cultural and ideological. We can disagree with this man without rancor.
