And we should be scared
Just like when he was a quaterback, he folds under pressure.
He’s finished.

Oh crap. I didn’t think of that. He probably would win too. NC loves Shuler for his conservativeness. I hope he does NOT run for Gov. Oh I am sure some will say.....what? They all hate him in NC. Not true. But I would be happy if they did.
I heard on the radio, just today I think, that the contract to fix the latest rock slide to close I-40 was given to Phillips & Jordan, one of Shuler’s largest contributors, who is/was Shuler’s partner in the real estate development business, and employer of Shuler’s brother.
It’s a shame Congressman Billybob isn’t around to see this. He worked for years to get Shuler out of there.
Darn.. So much for thinking NC was getting rid of both “suspend elections for two years” gov Perdue -and- Pelosis blue lap dog Shuler. I do hope he personally recognized the malevolent democratic party.

I was surprised that Shuler hadn’t announced his retirement earlier, since it would have been nearly impossible for him to win in the redrawn NC-11. This makes it a 100% certain GOP pickup.
The question now is, will Shuler run for governor instead? He recently said that he wouldn’t, but with Erskine Bowles nt running there will be a lot of pressure on what NC Democrats refer to as a “conservative Democrat” to run. But my gut tells me that Shuler won’t run, and that Congressman Mike McIntyre, who actually is a conservative Democrat and whose district was redrawn to make it extremely difficult for him to win reelection (with his Lumberton base and heavily Dem precincts in Wilmington stripped out and replaced with heavily Republican and exurban Johnston County), will run instead.
He’s as good of a politician as he was an NFL Quarterback.
