Any experience with battle tanks? The cav or armor?
I was in the Navy. Navigation. I read early on in life, in books from the Military Book Club, that a standing army was one of the things the FF didn't want. Congress was to "raise and support" an army. A Navy was to be "maintained".
Pretty practical since so much of our trade had to pass over the ocean. It seemed an obvious choice.
I ranged widely in my reading, even back then. Rev. War, Civil War, WWII, Korea. Nam was going on at the time so I saw that every night on the news.

Actually I have no idea what kind of ship he served on, if any.
