Born in Miami, FLORIDA in 1971. His parents were Cuban citizens who became U.S. citizens in 1975. Babies born in the U.S. hold citizenship here even if their parents are not citizens.
But as some posters have positioned it is his ‘natural born citizenship’ i.e. parentage and citizenship of parents that is questionable not merely his ‘citizenship’. Obama and his enablers have certainly opened Pandora’s box and I would much prefer the box and it’s contents be kept in Obama’s possession.
Sorry. His parents had to be citizens at the time of his birth for him to be an NBC. They were four years too late. Close but no cigar. He is a native-born citizen, not natural-born. The two are, Constitutionally, NOT the same.
“Babies born in the U.S. hold citizenship here even if their parents are not citizens.”
Oh please. I can barely stand the ignorance any longer.
By your standard, you would claim the child of our worst enemy, Iran’s Pres. Ahmadenijad, was eligible to be President of the United States if said child was born on U.S. soil and met the other qualifications listed in Article 2, Section 1 of our Constitution. This is why “born on U.S. soil of U.S. citizen parents”, the standard unanimously supported in Supreme Court case Minor vs Happersett, is critical in protecting the American people from foreign dominance.
