According to exit polls, 7 out of 10 Florida GOP voters today said they were conservative. But here’s a little factoid that’s disturbing:
Romney lost big among voters who feel it is most important to nominate a true conservative, but only 1 in 8 voters see that as their top priority.
Only 12% of GOP voters thought it was important to nominate a conservative.
And the NYT just posted a similar wrap-up that noted "About 7 in 10 Republican primary voters in Florida consider themselves conservative". Which means -- at most! -- 17% of Florida conservatives think it's important to nominate a conservative.
I read into that only this : the desire to defeat Obama is so great that it is blinding not just many, but most, to the principles that guide their politics in the first place.
But I've said all along that Bobo is unreelectable -- and conservatives who sat on the sidelines may look back at their choice with regret...
