Doesn’t anyone see what this is? Its not an attack on religion. If the Catholic Church disagrees with the mandated policy and no longer provides medical coverage to its employees, where will the employees be forced to go for coverage? Why the federal gov’t, of course!
" . . . Catholics are going to have to make a decision on just who they are going to follow the Catholic church or BO and his evil liberal liars."from cumbo78 in #27:
Cumbo78 hit the nail on the head as far as the goal of the policy, but the point Maryhere makes is the the real reason we're hearing about this and having it come to the fore so early in the election season. They could easily have gone about this differently, and if they had been working hard political calculus they would have gone about it differently.
Announcing this before the election doesn't gain them a thing among their non-Catholic supporters and is sure to cost them votes in the election as well as probably costing them some number of workers during the campaign. However, we're dealing with a narcissist who will gloat over each and every Catholic who publicly supports him, every single percentage point of Catholic support any survey shows him retaining, and every single Catholic vote he gets on election day even if that is millions fewer votes than he got in 2008. While a politician would have made sure this wasn't out until after the election even to the point of having it officially "still under consideration" in case anyone found out about it before the election, a narcissist wants to make it clear to Catholics that they have to decide between him and the Pope.
Barry is a narcissist who dwells in his own world and is dedicated to his own radical agenda, an agenda shaped in part by twenty years of anti-American, anti-Jewish, and anti-Catholic hatred spewed by Rev. Wright each and every Sunday. Accordingly, Barry believes that by having the Catholic Church directly confronting him the Catholic votes he loses will be more than offset by the anti-Catholic votes he gains. Remember, Barry believes the ignorant Christians are clinging to their God and their guns, which fits right in with those same folks also clinging either to the Pope or to the "anti-Papist" sermons they must hear frequently at their Church. The main thing, though, is that Barry wants to gloat over how many Catholics listen to him rather than the Pope. It feeds his ego and helps keep his opinion that he is Christ like well inflated.
It's also a pretty good indication that there isn't anyone around him puts pragmatism ahead of of their socialist agenda.
It's predictable. It's what narcissists do, put what feeds their ego and strengthens the bubble they live in ahead of all else.
