Space veterans endorse Mitt Romney

Astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, Bob Crippen, the first space shuttle pilot, and former NASA administrator Mike Griffin are among the eight space leaders who endorsed Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Friday, Space.com reported.

The men signed an open letter that explained why Romney is the candidate they most trust to rebuild the U.S. space program.

"Restoring the U.S. space program to greatness will require the leadership, management skill, and commitment to American exceptionalism possessed by only one candidate in this race: Mitt Romney," the letter said, according to Space.com. "We support Mitt's candidacy and believe that his approach to space policy will produce results instead of empty promises."

A disaster for conservatism if Romney is nominated. Look at his record; he is very liberal.
Our nation is in deep trouble; only conservative ideas can save it.
Romney's Bain Capital “just moving money” economics is NOT what built our nation. It is not the worst thing in the world, but definitely not a strong thing to support.

Romney space program? What in the hell are these jackasses thinking of. Did they not hear about Newt's program? Romney's program would be a big fat lie.

Also, can we assume that a la Bondi, the 8 signatories might just happen to make up that panel Mittens calls for?

And what says Harrison Schmitt?

“for the sake of the Republican Party, the country, and beating Obama, that if Newt doesn’t cross the finish line”

... then there had better be some mighty attractive House and Senate candidates to get conservatives to the polls!

Even if Newt pulls it out, we won’t be showing up with enthusiasm and excitement if the House and Senate candidates are the same old RINO drones.

Well I guess Space Veterans don't think much about their, or anybody elses' parents. Romney was a Director of Damon Corporation (quest labs). During his watch at Damon Corporation, The company was found GUILTY of the largest Medicare Fraud Case of the 1990’s

RomneyCare = ObamaCare = Rationed HealthCare = Senior Death Panels. Romney personally pocketed a half million dollars skating out the back door just as Federal Investigators were coming in the front door.

Medicare is currently insolvent partially because of practices like Romeny led at Damon Corporation

Wow. I’m a baby boomer as are the original astronauts...

I guess, maybe, I’m off base...a relic...out of touch...someone who should be sent out to pasture...

I’m shocked and amazed at the Romney endorsement of these men... and today of Jon Voight...

I’m, sad to say, I guess confused... I thought Ann Coulter, and Jon...and the rest were with us... I guess not...

I pledge also to you... I will not vote for Romney. No campaign donations... no vote... etc... I’ll sit this one out...

I voted for Reagan against FOrd... It’s the same now...

This country is screwed...Plain and simple if we nominate romney...

Could not be clearer...

Oh... and check this out...

No way in the world.

I will vote for the Republican nominee, no matter who it is. Santorum would be my first choice but any of them, and yes that includes Romney, would be better than Obama, IMHO.

I vowed to vote for the Republican we put up against Obama. Will you?
Yes, UNLESS "we" put up the so-called Republican who as a single-term failed governor delivered as his only accomplishment a program of policy functionally identical to ObamaCare, viz. RomneyCare, with all its new rules, new taxes, its exchanges its mandates, and its assumptions about using state power to supervisie private economic activity to support progressive goals like universal coverage.

I will never support, nor will I vote, for Romney, ever. ESPECIALLY not after the Florida 2012 primary.

““I believe Mitt Romney is a good person with a philosophy that has evolved over the years. We all grow up.

I’ll vote for Romney if my guy doesn’t make it and Romney does.”

Yep. I said that and my opinion has change since Governor Perry endorsed. I still think the best of people who want to lead our nation.

The very moment Romney wins the nomination (God forbid), will be the very moment that Obama wins the election.

Not only no, but HELL NO, I will not vote for Romney under any circumstances. I will simply watch our country burn to the ground.

If you want to help to save America, then STOP ROMNEY NOW!!! The only way to stop Romney is to support and vote for Newt.

As for “for the sake of the Republican Party”, screw them. The Republican party is on death row and they did it to themselves. The GOP establishment elite needs to die and die NOW, period.

GO NEWT GO......this is not just about picking a president, it’s about the very survival of our country!!

At one time, I thought I could vote for whoever the nominee is. Not any more. Mittens has shown he is a true Alinsky radical and makes my blood run cold. I will sit out the vote in November if he is our nominee. Sorry, I just can’t stomach the weasel. We had tricky Dicky, we don’t need another Slick Willy occupying the WH.

Here is a commitment for you. I won’t vote for Romney under any circumstances for any office at any time, ever.

I agree.
