I’ll never forget July 20,1969. It was my 15th birthday!
I was in high school. My brother was transferred from the Gulf of Tonkin to the recovery carrier (Hornet, I believe) to aid in craft recovery comms. Oh yah, I remember.
That was a high point during a dark time. I remember watching the landing in awe.
What a contrast between someone who believes in America as opposed to the current WH occupant or the establishment’s choice.
I remember it also - on a Sunday! And my neice’s Christening Day.

.
Neither will I.
We nearly sank my brother’s ski boat in the middle of lake Mead, it had caught fire.
My mom’s birthday is July 20th. I was 5 when it happened and remember everyone sitting around the living room tv watching Armstrong in black and white walk on the moon. Any politician like Romney who belittles proposals for America to go back to the moon is a disgrace to America.
I was 9 years old and attending a family reunion. All the adults had us kids going with if we looked really hard at the moon we could SEE the U.S. FLAG!!! :-)
