The fact that Newt - the "historian" would offer an unconstitutional choice in a trial balloon is almost enough to make me rescind my support.

Newt understands the Constitution. Rubio is only ineligible to birthers.

Bingo. Birther definitions of who is eligible won't have the slightest impact on who Newt (or anyone else) chooses for his running mate. My guess is Gingrich will indeed pick Rubio.

Ok, this PISSES ME OFF.

This is NOT a birther issue. It is a LEGAL CONSTITUTIONAL issue. Take your alynski BS and fold it into sharp corners and stick it....

“The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.” Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162, 168.”
