Debate Wrapup

This was by far the best debate for Rick Santorum and Ron Paul. They both made effective use of the squabbling between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Gingrich seemed tired, unprepared, and off his game tonight -- bad timing for the former House speaker. Romney had some clunkers -- he got caught redhanded on the anti-Newt attack ad, the line about not making his own investments could come back to haunt him, and he denied being politically involved during a time period that included a Senate campaign -- but he had the better showing overall. I'm seeing many people argue that Gingrich has sharpened Romney as a candidate.

Rick is a nice guy but he just doesn’t have the ability to be a leader.

It’s a pissing contest as to who is most of an insider between Mitt, Newt and Rick. Paul too if you count how long he’s been on Congress.

As to trusting someone I believe will actually do something rather than be liberal lite, then Newt’s track record is the best. Not perfect, but none of theirs are.

I stand for something I never thought I would. A strong third party challenge to the GOP. The GOP is not conservative. They are merely less liberal than the Dems. We have to start over if Mitt wins. We will not change them from within.

They say that the Republican Party is the stupid party and that's especially true if you are talking about conservatives who vote Republican, believing the Republican Party to be the conservative choice.

George Bush helped make it very clear to me that most Republicans are not conservatives. It isn't possible to be a conservative and a Republican, they are two completely different animals. Last election we thought we could infiltrate the Republican Party with conservatives and we failed.

I will not vote for Romney because he does not deserve my vote. He does not represent me. As far as I am concerned a vote for Romney is the same as a vote for Obama as both will end up with the same results for this country.

I will only vote for a conservative. I will only vote for someone who I believe will represent me.

This massive anti-Newt campaign by supposedly conservative leaning people is the final straw for me. I think Newt should talk Sarah into being his running mate and then take no prisoners. Use the truth to beat the crap out of the media, the liberal democrats and the liberal republicans.

We win only if strong conservatives win. If we do not elect strong candidates, then we will lose the country.

They’re all going to release their health records, how cool a question is that!

I know about that and don’t like it either. But, choosing from a series of flawed candidates Newt isn’t my first choice. I’ll support him and any current primary candidate against Obama. Newt’s wrapped himself in populism and class warfare. He’s too concerned with Mitt’s wallet. There’s plenty of other things to smash Mitt with, his fortune isn’t one of them. It’s not what conservatives stand for.

I consider Obama to be the worst president in US history. I a good argument could be made that he is dragging this country down on purpose.

That said, if romney gets the nom., I’ll vote, but not in the presidential race. If it means Obama gets four more years, so be it.

Well, I will agree that Rick and newt are the two most conservative. But I disagree that newts the most consistent one.
