I am not watching but just listening. It is allowing me to really focus on what these guys are SAYING.

Oh, what a debacle.

On this immigration, this is the dilemma.

The position taken by Newt in some aspects is warmed over George Bush compassionate conservative and horrid. We don't need any more Juan McCain as he puts forward.

On the other hand, intellectually, Romney has a better position. The problem is, he is an outright liar and talking out of both side of his a**. He does not believe those talking points at all, it is all a show, and he would revert to the Gingrich position were he to be sworn in.

The only one who made sense to me was Santorum. His was spot on, and he did not bring up any of these straw man "91 year old grandmother round up." But just got to the point about legal vs. illegal immigration, and that illegal immigration necessarily brings with it a host of breaking other laws.

Ron Paul was an idiot on this issue.

Santorum sounds excellent and in command by audio only, very forceful, eloquent, impassioned and full of facts. I think Santorum is winning it so far, IMHO.

Romney and Santorum are intellectually dishonest on immigration. They dodge and weave when it comes to what the "anchor baby" Latino voters care about: their parents or grandparents.

You dismiss it as strawman but it's actually the issue that constituency cares about most when the illegal immigration topic comes up.

Newt's the one who gets specific and takes the policies all the way through addressing the whole issue, not cherry picking to appease activists by stopping at control on the border or employer sanctions. Newt goes there and keeps going.
