Santorum is gathering strength slowly and steadily as the campaign rolls on. He has gotten the whine thing well under control, has an excellent grasp on the basis of conservatism and is plenty smart enough. He also has an excellent portfolio on American foreign policy from South America to the Middle East and beyond.

And I truly like, admire and respect the guy.

As this thing goes, there are less and less debates. One debate in the month of February. That means it comes down to the campaign trail and campaign ads. If Santorum can hang in there, he stands a chance.

Maybe Newt could drop out and endorse Santorum. It’s clear there’s a majority who would vote for the Cookie Monster to stop Romney. :-)
