eddie, you bring back memories, I haven’t thought of my Web TV in years. I remember that I sold it ebay and got more than half of what I paid for it which I thought was incredible.
I guess Web TV was my first computer although it wasn’t really computer.
As I remember you could interact with a remote or keyboard, but I never bought the keyboard so it was too much work to do much posting.
I sold mine for $200...exactly what I had to pay for a Dish Network/Microsoft WebTV/satellite combo. I was even able to transfer the WebTV Plus account into the new box. (an earlier competitor to Tivo in that it had a whopping 8 gig hard drive and allowed me to record 6 hours of TV.....the same as a VHS tape at the slowest speed!)
Actually....the coolest box I have ever owned (and a massive consumer failure, of course).
Once graphics and video started to get heavy and the l-o-n-g threads on FR could no longer be loaded (The famous "Deep In The Hurtgen Forest" threads and aftermaths), I finally broke down and bought a real desktop PC.
