I shut off Rush and listened to that video posted at Reihl World View. Newt DID NOT diss Reagan or the Reagan years. He basically said that given the choice, voters will respond to a forward looking agenda rather than look to the past. He said Bush was right in his “no new taxes” comment in NH and that the war on drugs was failing. If I remember correctly, that was about the time of Len Bias’s cocaine overdose.

Rush should know better as his words are often taken out of context.

but i think looking at history to see what works and what does not work is wise

like levin says - obama (and tyrants throughout history) urge us to buy into a utopian vision of the future and ignore reality
