everyone else goes about the election as if nothing is amiss.

Not sure what your point would be. You have the gift of prophecy? Your post reads like someone looking forward to grim satisfaction, rather than success, as a life goal. (I hope I'm wrong there.)

Conservatives need to stop going on with normal life as if nothing were at stake. Everything is at stake. At this moment, we should learn from the Left, who fight every little battle and raise every little objection, no matter how quixotic, no matter how stupid. It wears the enemy down, distracting him from time he should be spending on broader strategy, and knocking little splinters off his coalition.

When you add up all these annoyances, you raise a low din of negativity around the target. This starts to plant ideas in the heads of the target's allies and rivals of how it might be their turn in the spotlight, and the target might need to cede some power or step aside for the good of the Party. With erosion of the base taking place from within, one of the many little annoyances—there's no telling which one will do it—can start a crack that grows.

Since it's true that the guy is ineligible to be President, not to mention a traitor, we should cheer on every Quixote who makes a good point. They all help, and one might turn out to have a nuclear-tipped lance.
