Ann Coulter has been on an anti-Newt rage the past few weeks, and last night on the Kudlow Report, she let slip what she really thinks about the GOP voters who have responded wildly to Newt on everything from the charge of racism by Juan Williams for being for Jobs rather than food stamps, to Newt's brilliant rebuttal to Scott Pelley on national security law. She thinks they are morons--or even worse in the world of Coulter, she thinks they're Democrats!
Ann was asked by Kudlow about Newt's invincibility as a debater, and she essentially ridiculed the audiences that have cheered Newt, saying she thought it best to not hear from the so called "peanut gallery."
Is Ann becoming an elitist herself?
And are we seeing the right-wing media elite starting to act and think like the left wing media elite did? That THEY know more than the rest of America as far as what it means to be conservative, and who will best be in a position to beat President Obama.
I mean, why bother going through this whole election thing?!
Rick Tyler, with Newt's PAC, really socked it to Ann for having so little respect for the voters--and the process.
I hate re-posting what I have posted on previous threads... but I truly think this is a better explanation:
“Folks, the “Ann Coulter” explanation is not that hard (IMHO). Ann is, according to rumor and careful dissection of her own writings and associations, most likely a “fag-hag.” For those unfamiliar with the phrase, it refers to a straight woman who hangs around with gay men. Now, in most cases, this is usually a product of a woman with “commitment” issues... and I think Ann obviously qualifies (it might also explain the rumored “relationship” with Matt Drudge).
Hanging around with gay or married men is attractive to women who have trouble with commitment because they still gain the attention of men (which they are genetically programmed to seek) without the danger of a long-term sexual or emotional relationship.
The problem with this is that it is impossible to remain neutral when it comes to a destructive lifestyle. Take, for example, a friend who might have a drinking problem. This person might be an otherwise wonderful human being, who just has a problem with his/her drinking. But, if you are around this person long enough, a decent and rational person has no choice but to notice the destructive nature of your friend’s behavior. You either then have to confront the friend, or change your own morality and values. If you choose to confront, you will most likely lose the friend. If not, then you will increasingly be dragged into more and more uncomfortable situations (for you), until you have to break off the relationship. Or, you can change your mind, and salvage your friendship (”Oh, that’s just the way he is. There’s nothing wrong with it... it’s him.”). This is why peer pressure is so powerful.
So let’s take a hypothetical. You have gay friends, and you are struggling with your moral doubts about their lifestyle. Then you get put in a situation where you have to either compromise your morals and go along to keep your friends (”Hey, Ann, go over there and tell that guy I think he’s cute.”), or take a stand and lose everything. The easier path is to just tell yourself that your friend is a good person (which he may be in every other respect), and that his behavior is just the way he is. And now you are a “live-and-let-live” gay rights supporter.
So, having come to her stealth morality change, who would Ann support? Not Santorum (for obvious reasons)! And Newt, as randy as his past life has been, is firmly hetero... with a social philosophy to match. But we all know Romney is just giving lip service to “conservative values” (so much so that your “friend” Drudge is fully on his bandwagon). Well, Romney it is...
Just my guess... but I’d be surprised if that wasn’t part of it... “
She needs to start hoarding cats.
Nailed it. Even when I liked her commentary, her voice was like a railroad spike being pounded through my skull, but at least I agreed with her most of the time. She generally shreds liberals in debates, another advantage. But poor Ann has lost it. Gingrich may not be the perfect candidate (though I support him), but no one is - least of all Romney. Heck, Romney's own people came out this morning and said that he wouldn't try to repeal Obamacare - with no rebuttal by the campaign itself...and Colter not only still supports him, but calls all of us who don't, morons. Well, Ann, FU (though I don't mean that literally, because she's such a skinny, skanky turncoat - not attractive in the least to me, despite long legs and blond hair).
Seriously, she's become an elitist, and a very non-conservative one at that. I don't know why, but I don't like it or her arrogance. I, too, turn off the TV or radio when she comes on.
What's she going to do if Newt is nominated? Vote for Obama because Mittens didn't win, or just stay home and help Obama win?
Plus, there is that Adam’s Apple . . .
Ann-The-Man, is sleeping with the enemy.
I think it is a cry for help.
Has he really? I used to listen to his program on occasion, but haven't had it on once since he threw all in for Romney and began a steady flow of bash-Gingrich rhetoric.
Totally agree with you.. very perceptive analysis.
Change-of-life has come to town.
Malkin’s going to be on Hannity’s TV show tonight.
Maybe if Ann would eat a hamburger and supersize those fries she might snap out of it.
By her own words, we're to believe Ann doesn't "keep count" of her own engagements and marriage itself, but she's critical about the number of Newt's relationships? That's hypocracy. Also, it appears Drudge and Coulter are fast friends!
Piers Morgan interview with Ann Coulter
Snip: Coulter did not want to talk about herself. She jokingly answered that her life wasnt that interesting and she would rather discuss her book and other writings. If she was offering him an out, Morgan didnt bite, and proceeded to ask her a hypothetical question, hoping to highlight her personal views on gay rights. If you had a daughter or son who came to you and said they were gay, how would you feel?
Rather than directly answering the question, Coulter asked Morgan what his response would be. He admitted he would be fine with it, and tried asking her again. She deadpanned, I cant imagine being married.
Morgan found this answer rather amusing, and tried to once again ask Coulter about her three past engagements. When Coulter seemed to hint that this information was incorrect, Morgan asked her if it was true. She responded, Who knows? I dont keep count.
Matt Drudge responsible for Ann Coulter's 'Demonic' book cover
Snip: I sent
a few choices of the cover to Drudge and we were way past deadline and I had sent him my computer copies of the book because I think hell like it and he just started hysterically calling me and all he wanted to tell me was No! You need an all black cover. No picture of you on the cover. Your name and the name of the book, Coulter said in an interview in The Daily Callers Washington office last Thursday. And I said, I actually kind of like that.
I saw someone, can’t remember who, make a post two days ago where he said that he’d gone back through Coulter’s books and found a lot of positive commentary she’s written about Gingrich over the years. I’ve never read her stuff, so can’t verify that. If it’s true, I wish someone would dig it all up, post it, and hang it around her neck.
Ann C and Matt D seem to have formed some kind of blood pact to kill Newt and elect Romney. I can’t tell which of those two things is more motivating to them, their hatred of Newt or their love of Romney.
My theory is she is gay and was always held back by her Catholic beliefs but now she is rebelling because she cant stand it anymore. . . Name me even 3 men she has dated and how long. You cant.
Er, yes I can, but it's true that I won't. Don't look for a lesbo explanation here, not just because her behavior doesn't match, but also because her family relationships didn't s&*k, which is a prerequisite. She's written about them in her columns.
Lots of otherwise normal career women have trouble forming families. I heard her on the radio with Geraldo this morning, and I agree with you that I don't understand her attraction to Romney and her ferocious statements about Newt.
And unless she Poped recently, she's not a Catholic.
no, I guess not...
I don’t agree with her on Romney. But I do agree with the “democrat” association. Newt Gingrich is Bill Clinton with an R behind his name. Hearing such a huge chunk of Freepers now pointing to the 90’s as evidence of Newt’s great accomplishments, when conservatives once railed against the abuses of the 90’s, pretty well highlights the direction things are headed on this site. Who knew the Clinton years would one day become so popular here?
Although it bothered me that she is anti-Gingrich and pro-Romney, I am more bothered by the fact that the DrudgeReport seems to be anti-Gingrich. I really don’t get that.
Etc. Actually, I love all those quotes.
Without Newt's led 'Contract with American' win for the control of the peoples house after 40 years of the rule of liberalism in 1994, nobody would have been the wiser to the corrupt Clintons administration. Most especially Ann Coulter. It really get old and even tawdry to read how some twist history to suit their own misguided perceptions of what literally occurred.
The more current term for it is "fruit fly", which is easier to say in mixed company.
