It would seem that Newt is flushing out all of the Pretenders.
Rubio just took obama to the woodshed in a scathing letter. He’s no rino. He just doesn’t want to see republicans left on the cutting room floor. He doesn’t want four more years of obama’s destruction. What if Gingrich implodes? What if more women come out - ala Herman Cain? Jeff Kuhner is sitting in for Savage right now and though he doesn’t support Romney, he sure is giving a good argument against putting all of our eggs in Newt’s basket.
BINGO!
Or could it be that Newt is a pretender???
What conservative would advocate cap and trade, shill for Freddie, sit on a couch with Nancy, be for mandates in health care and criticize Clinton while he is himself stupping the help???
Newt is no conservative.
Santorum is the only one left.
Yes indeed! I'd like to know exactly what Rubio would cite on his list of "conservative" accomplishments by Romney, other than campaigning for him. Some of these Republicans mouth the words, "Romney is a conservative," but I never see an itemized list from them of actions he has taken in his political career to further conservatism. Other than giving money to and campaigning for them. But when Romney was in office -- WHAT, exactly, did he do to advance conservatism?
No matter how one feels about Newt, no matter how many crappy things he's done politically, it's also true that one can cite hard-core instances where he has furthered the cause of conservatism in the U.S. If someone mouths the words, "Gingrich is a conservative," you might reasonably reply, "Well, yeah, at least some of the time," and be telling the truth.
But one could not reasonably or truthfully say that about Romney, as far as I know. I have yet to read about or come across ONE SINGLE INCIDENT of where Romney actually used his political office to advance limited government or social conservatism.
Rubio's phrase "Romney is a conservative" is an oxymoron.
Amen to that! I just never suspected Marco Rubio as one of them. He's lost me.
