I somewhat agree. I think the margin would be greater.

I think most actual voting Republicans would vote for whomever had the R by his name. But the apoliticals will be trickier. I think we need a likable conservative without too much baggage to beat Obama. He doesn’t have to be perfect. He doesn’t have to be a he.
I still think Santorum is ready. If the lack of gay support hurts him that much, we will never see a conservative in the WH again.
(please don’t throw me off FR. I will vote for newt if Santorum isn’t on the ballot)

I thought Palin endorsed Gingrich?
Nope. She said if she were voting in South Carolina, she would vote for Newt to keep the vetting going. She has not said she endorses him for president...yet.

I didn’t know if you had seen that book on George Romney, but I found it quite fascinating.

OK.
I really don’t know how much clout she has with Tea Party people and independents.
Fred Thompson endorsed Newt. I guess that influences the “Law and Order” vote.

I thought Palin endorsed Gingrich?
My impression was that Palin was advocating that South Carolina voters vote for the most viable Not-Romney, so that the election wouldn't be wrapped up after 3 states.
Most people are calling it a quasi-endorsement.
Todd Palin did endorse Gingrich outright, but officially, he "went rogue" doing so.

(a FL win returns Romney to the "inevitability" path.)
To: SeekAndFind
That would be insane for them to even try. 1) It would say to the people who have already voted in South Carolina and in Florida, we don't care about your votes (which we know that anyway) 2) The backlash and burning revolt of the party would be unrepairable for many years to come. The dems would win again. Newt can win and they fear that. Mitch Daniels is another weak person because of some of his own views. Jeb Bush, under his watch, allowed builders to dominate construction here while they could get these weak unsecured loans. Where there laws in place then to see the corruption or a leader to see what was happening. The corruption with home mortgages; that will come back up. I don't understand why they (the elites well, I do, because they are so out of touch) think he is so popular in Florida. That is not true. I seem to read about his popularity from left wing pundits. He is another compassionate liberal. The party elites ( Bush Sr-Rove whom have a huge deep grudge against Newt) know Newt looks strong in Florida. After that, Romney is about done. The base will not vote for him. They know this so Rush is correct when he says they don't want the presidency. Newt has the Tea Party. The Tea Party to the insiders have to be secondary string while the moderates keep the front line/ power. I am pulling for the Tea Party wing, not the moderate wing which allows the liberals to set the message.

Jeb Bush would lose in a landslide.

“Maybe he knows where all the skeletons are buried and they surely don’t want them to come to light.”
If Newt knows “where all the skeletons are buried,” it’s because he had his hands on the shovel as well. He was a member of the Congressional GOP Establishment for 20 years, until he resigned from the House when members of his own party threatened to throw him out of the leadership.

Bush and Daniels are good establishment RINOs. Neither not much better than Willard the liberal. Definitely not anyone the Tea Party could get behind. Teri Schievo would still be living if Jeb Bush has been man enough to stop her killing.
Daniels is your a-typical RINO who can’t stand to talk about abortion and homosexual marriage.

This is why I think Sarah Palin hasnt endorsed anyone officially. Obviously, since she has such a fine recent record of making up her mind in a timely manner.
I think she is waiting for Romney to fail and she will then step up to the plate and suck
I hope not. She should stay home and make simple comments about obvious things as she has been doing.
It pays her well and keeps her away from actual commitment.
If she don't commit, then she won't quit.

This would end the Republican Party—literally.
This isn’t 1964, when there were alternatives to the GOP.
This is 2012. With the internet and grassroots organizations growing leaps and bounds. Heck, the Tea Party is on the edge of becoming a full fledged political party. All that is required is for the GOP to self destruct.
An action like they are talking about here would do it.
