“If Newt and Santorum were to team up, would that eliminate the possibility of a brokered convention?”
Santorum is in the race at the behest of the RNC to drain Newt of votes.
His “team” is Romney, hoping for a cabinet position.
FYI Huntsman is a cousin of Mitt. (Think grandfather with five wives in Mexico) The Huntsman family fortune is intertwined with romney/Bain. Huntsman was a “straw” candidate. The people of NH got snookered.
You mean they don’t want to hold their nose and support the nominee if their guy loses? Isn’t that what they tell everyone else to do?
Maybe he knows where all the skeletons are buried and they surely don't want them to come to light.
She also said that Romneys grandpa, an American citizen, was an illegal. The woman is useless.
I wondered if this is why Mitch Daniels is the response to SOTU speech by Zero...
Bring it.
In fact, every conservative should make that promise here, and now.
Here's mine.
[[ “I talked to a top Romney adviser tonight who said, ‘Look, if Mitt Romney cannot win in Florida then we’re going to have to try to reinvent the smoke-filled room which has been democratized by all these primaries. And we’re going to have try to come with someone as an alternative” ]]
Poor Mitt — how’d YOU like to have “top advisors” who thought of you like that?
With one hand shaking yours, and the other holding “the hook”? :)
epubs
why do you assume that? The latest Gallup Poll has Obama up on Romney and Newt by the same 50-48 margin. The latest PPP poll has Obama up on them by the same 5 pt margin.
Other reent polls had him down in the 7-10 range, and that was before his SC victory and momentum. A big win in FL will only add to that.
I’d suggest that if Newt wins FL as big as he won SC that within 3 days post FL there will be a poll out showing him ahead of Obama. And what will the elites say then?
Here’s my answer to the GOP-E:
Rebellion is on!! Join or die!! Don’t tread om me!!

Totally useless...and yet, she has a thread here at FR discussing some spew from her clueless self. So silly.
If they do, the GOP will become part of the footnotes of history. Rebellion is indeed brewing. They can either join us or we’ll run right over them. Their choice.
NO THANKS...this is why I support Tea Party and stopped giving any thing to GOP..next will be to drop off Republican and become independent...
I voted for the Parties choice four years ago..only because of Palin..will never do that again...
John McCain may very well have been a tough soldier but other wise he is a dumb a$$...time for him to retire..
Here’s the wiki explanation. It is kinda scary that the Paulbots might very well take over a brokered con.

The status quo was for 40 years the Dems held power. They gave the Republicans cover and pork. Congresscritters go to DC broke and end up wealthy. For them, it worked.
Along comes Gingrich. He gets control of the House. CHAOS! Budget cuts. Less pork. And the Republicans actually had to GOVERN. AND take responsibility. The Dems were outnumbered. The 98 budget was scheduled for a $1 Billion cut. GET RID OF NEWT. And they did. Phony ethics charges that were ALL dropped. AND they got to smear him.
He's baaaack! Older and wiser. And the elites are AGAIN trying to save the status quo. The question is, what are YOU going to do?
Finally, someone pointing out the facts: Establishment Republicans don’t want to win elections, not on any widespread basis. As odd as that sounds, it’s true. The establishment hates Newt because Newt wants to win. It’s also why they hate the Tea Party, Rush Limbaugh, and Sarah Palin, to name a few others.
Republican elites in their walled off ivory towers dictating to the unwashed working class who should be their candidate, huh? Mr. Gingrich, tear down that wall.
Eff them.
Theyre freaking out.
Reiterate: Eff them.

In 2008 I got a mailing from the RNC asking for a contribution. I told them after they shut down the Nevada caucus because their chosen candidate wasn’t winning that they could go eff themselves and they’d never get money from me.
