So far, Mitt is winning this debate and Santorum is making a big impression too. Newt needs to clear up fannie mac big time...

From what i saw (only watched bits and pieces) i agree and think Santorum could end up gaining the most, although i don't think it'll be enough to seriously threaten either Mitt or Gingrich just yet. If he can follow it up with another good debate next time, then who knows, especially if Gingrich and Mitt keep pounding away at each other, allowing Santorum to take the high road again. As for Mitt, i don't think he cared so much about winning the debate as he did in just stopping the Newt momentum, which i think he may well have done in the opening minutes alone.

Newt needs to respond quickly and provide a much stronger answer to the peddling influence charge. His responses to Romney saying that (paraphrasing) "everyone knows what you're doing and America won't fall for it" or "this is the same kind of stuff you pulled with McCain, and it didn't work then and it won't work now" came off sounding like empty rhetoric since he didn't follow up with anything particularly convincing as far i'm concerned.

This has been an interesting primary so far, considering we are only 3 states in. The polls have swung wildly to almost every candidate going back to last summer. Almost seems like when someone becomes the frontrunner in the polls, they drop like a rock within weeks. We had Bachman, Perry, Cain, Gingrich, Romney, and now Gingrich again. Maybe best to be a close 2nd and rack up enough delegates and fly slightly under the radar LOL. Being a frontrunner is dangerous!

This was a pretty low key debate as compared to last week. Mitt helped himself some. Gingrich didn’t hurt himself. Santorum looked better than last Thursday. In the end, this one probably doesn’t change much.

I think this race goes all the way into May and June now. Which is good. At least it forces the media to talk about the republican candidates. And Obama is kind of getting drowned out right now. And regardless of who gets the nomination, these large number of debates and drawn out primary battle will only strengthen the republican nominee.
