COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina's attorney general has notified the U.S. Justice Department of potential voter fraud.
Attorney General Alan Wilson sent details of an analysis by the Department of Motor Vehicles to U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles.
In a letter dated Thursday, Wilson says the analysis found 953 ballots cast by voters listed as dead. In 71 percent of those cases, ballots were cast between two months and 76 months after the people died. That means they "voted" up to 6 1/3 years after their death.
The letter doesn't say in which elections the ballots were cast.
The analysis came out of research for the state's new voter identification law. The U.S. Justice Department denied clearance of that law.
Wilson told Nettles he asked the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate.
Are there that many fraudulent voters actually coming into the polls to vote, or are some voter officials voting these names from the inside?
In this computer age it would seem that a program could be developed which would notify various governmental departments about certain events that have happend to an individual. Things like death, criminal convictions, residency changes, marriage/divorce, etc would enable departments to remove voter registrations, benefits, etc.
Yes and yes. Plus, unionistas are imported from neighboring states. Groups travel state to state, establishing the minimum residencies before voting and, if possible going on to other venues to repeat the process.
Democrat SoS don’t prosecute. State laws list voter fraud as a misdemeanor. So the stats *prove* there isn’t much, if any voter fraud. Oh, perhaps some registration anomalies, sure, but not real fraud-fraud (wink), since there is “no way” to establish that the false registrants actually, like, you know, _voted_.
We have overheard college students in the nearest large city instructing each other in how to double vote at their parents’ address and again at their school address.
This is not a secret.
Interesting estimate he has...the 953 votes by dead people was from an analysis of 10000 ballots. So, of that sample, 9.53% of the votes were clearly fraudulent (since dead people cannot vote).
Reminds me of the old joke about the guy who went to the doctor and claimed he was dead. Try as he might, the doctor could not convince the man otherwise. Finally, feeling inspired, the doctor asked him if dead men can bleed. The man said, "of course not." So the doctor pricked him with a needle causing him to bleed. The man responded, "Huh, I guess dead men DO bleed." So the justice dept replies, "What do you know, I guess dead men CAN vote!"
I suspect this analysis of voter fraud is not from the most recent primary in South Carolina. Government folks simply do not work that fast.
.. is Post of the Day so far !
Agreed.
Monty Python: Bring out your voters!
bttt
You know, something is screwy here. I had to show an ID (drivers license or voters reg card) in order to get my ballot (in SC Saturday). So how can this happen? Frankly I don’t believe it.
Probably absentee. You have to sign swearing you are that person, but no ID.
