SPARTANBURG, S.C.-- A customer at the Waffle House on Chesnee Highway shot and killed a gunman attempting to rob the business early Saturday morning, according to a report from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery attempt at the Waffle House restaurant at 2230 Chesnee Highway at 1:13 Saturday morning. They discovered that two men had attempted to rob the business.
Deputies said a customer at the restaurant who was a concealed weapons permit holder attempted to thwart the robbery and hold the suspects at gunpoint with his handgun until authorities arrived. However, one man pointed his gun at the customer, who then shot and killed the suspect, deputies said. The other suspect fled the scene.

I think that Waffle House has a higher percentage of customers paying cash rather than credit card.
When I drive from PA to Florida I stop at the Waffle Houses for breakfast, and while they are along the I-95 corridor, they are always busy.
There are none where I live, so I can't speak to the day to day business that they do.
BTW, I'm always carrying when I go into the Waffle House and I'm sure that many others are too.
Enough to stay high the rest of the night, which is as far as their forward thinking extends.
Free waffles for life for our hero!!
The Other Dante directed him to his new resting place - the one that had a sign over the gate saying "Abandon all hope . . ."
Every other waffle house customer in the south is CC. The only riskier place to try to rob would be Pro Bass where every customer is CC. LOL!!!
And he'll never do anything like this in the future!
BTW, the comments over at that site are great, especially the smackdowns delivered to the dead thug's friends!
...must have forgotten to apply his ‘Ron Paul eyebrow toupees’ before that photo was taken...
Make a good epitaph for his tombstone...
Yep, Rates right up there with trying to rob a "cop bar" 20 minutes after shift change at the P.D.
