Obviously Mittens doesn’t even warrant discussion, pretty much ditto for Ron Paul.
When I add things up, it is pretty much a no brainer. Gingrich deserves our respect and admiration for breaking the Democrat deadlock on Congress that was 2 generations old. But that is it. Just as a Sam Adams could start a Revolution, it took a John Adams to help finish it. Newt is a Sam, he is not a John. No disrespect to the Speaker. but Santorum has a lot better convservative credentials and less baggage overall than Newt.
I would rather take my chances with a Santorum in the Oval Office whose main political mistake was supporting an incumbent moderate Senator who took on Clarence Thomas’ nomination (who by the way turned out to be the BEST Supreme Court Justice in our era) than a Newt fawning over what Woodrow and FDR would have done and running to Nancy P to get her take on what he should do.
I think the odds on beating Obama won’t be affected that much by who the Republican candidate is, so we may as well go for the most conservative and principled one.
That’s an interesting comparison, Newt as Sam (Adams) rather than John.
But no one much liked John ... at the time. People bought beers for SAM, baby. :P Sam got the Indian costumes on and threw the BRITISH TEA INTO BOSTON HARBOR, baby. :P
This is one idiotic thought.
“I think the odds on beating Obama wont be affected that much by who the Republican candidate is”
Why do you think that?
