Hilary Clinton used to have terrible negatives too, right, but she rehabilitated herself. People already took a second look at Newt in the primary twice. To think that the current national polls on him are a static number that cannot change as he gets a chance to reinvent himself on the national stage is just silly. Kerry was ahead of Bush since Kerry got the nomination and was still ahead by 7 points 4 months before the 2004 election, before he lost decisively.
I like Maddow’s comments on Mitt’s glass jaw being his record at Bain Capital. 30% of the vote in SC viewed Mitt’s Bain experience as a negative and almost all of those voted against him. We need to keep pointing out the sleazy stuff he did at Bain, e.g. borrowing money on companies, transferring it to Bain, and then watching those companies go bankrupt while Bain kept all the borrowed money under a different corporate “umbrella,” and the creditors could not lay claim to it.
Like Mark Levin said, Mitt Romney is more of a corporatist than a capitalist. Those attacks should be refined and explained better but must continue. He cannot be allowed to run as a businessman who claims he can fix the economy just like he “fixed up” companies. That account is a ridiculous fictional fabrication of what he actually did at Bain, which was little more than a big money Wall Street shell game.

I agree with you. Great points.
