Sure, the Newt supporters are busy trying to smear Santorum, but I really think that’s kind of dumb at this stage.

I agree with you. We need them. I like Santorum. But as someone else on here said.... I want a guy who will kneecap Obama. And that's not Santorum. I don't think Santorum would cozy up to Zero and offer trite assurances that "we shouldn't fear an Obama presidency" (four years later, that STILL makes me go, WTF?????), but I don't think he has the kind of anger in him that we need.

I think the situation has changed. I don’t know how much JimRob’s timely endorsement had to do with it—or Sarah Palin’s indirect endorsement—but Newt now has the momentum and carries the conservative banner. I no longer think that Santorum is a threat to Newt, unless Newt implodes for some unexpected reason.

But I am pleased that Ron Paul is no longer running with high numbers, because he would make trouble if he possibly could.
