Newt has already said he will get rid of the EPA and it’s crazy regulations.

Well actually he said he would eliminate the EPA and replace it with an environmental solutions agency which among other things would "incentivize" energy and things like flex fuel vehicles.

Gingrich’s list of energy policies includes providing incentives for flex fuel vehicles that can use corn-based ethanol rather than gasoline — a key issue for Iowa’s farm economy.

Newt Gingrich proposes abolishing EPA(and replacing it with a new agency)

He restated his plan for this new agency at the Huckabee forum last month. Despite his claim that the agency would be pro business, no such animal exists. If one did, it would only exist till the democrats kill it or turn it into a weapon.

Any business that needs incentives to survive is a free market failure and deserves to die. Also there's the fact that our tax dollars would be supporting this federal agency forever.

I attended a GA townhall with Newt Gingrich in late Oct. He spoke at length about his 21st Century Contract For America and also his ideas about the EPA. I agree with Newt that we have to have some basic standards such as clean drinking water etc. He plans to replace the EPA with a small streamlined agency that will work with business to find solutions that help the environment but that will not jeopardize our standard of living or get in the way of corporations to do business. Ethanol is just one part of the story. Gingrich plans to cut out the regs so the coal industry can crank back up again and he is going to drill baby drill. This is what we need to be doing.

The Ethanol subsidy question is in the public domain for debate. As time goes by it will become more and more apparent that the most inefficient way to produce ethanol is from corn. As I understand it the legislature is already planning to cut out the ethanol corn subsidy anyway. Sugar is a much better way to go with ethanol.

None of us is going to find a presidential candidate that we agree 100% with. I’m going with Newt because I agree with him about 90% of the time. Maybe we can all change his mind about the Ethanol corn subsidy.
