He was on Fox News talking about it. He had 4,000 students from University of Charleston who gave him a huge applause. He says he talked taking action on the economy and doing something to help America. I think it was fine that he did this. Get some more people seeing our side is not a bad thing.
Your link does not work.
Agreed. Steve is liberal, but I think he likes to keep things lighthearted and not as shrill as somebody like John Stewart.
It’s good to be able to laugh at yourself, and yes, at your own beliefs. If you can’t mock your outlook, I think you have no business mocking someone else’s.
I think it is wrong of Cain to try to make the SC primary about him hours before the voting.
He bowed out, so GET OUT!
I saw a few minutes of Cain on Fox this am. He tried to explain what he was up to partnering with a liberal comedian but he wasn’t very coherent. At least it wasn’t the 9-9-9 crap.
Actually, I think this is really a sad circus on Cain’s part. Newt came out and defended him several times when he was being macerated in the media, and he also had a one-on-one debate with Cain. During that sit-down Newt was very kind to Cain, and went out of his way to make Cain look good. Now, Cain is attempting to be a distraction in SC, when he could have endorsed Newt and gone on the trail for him. Instead it’s look at me look at me.
This is really sad to me, and I am through with Cain... I have always supported Newt but when Cain was being attacked nonstop I sent him money just on general principles, only now it seems Cain has no principles.
Look at these idiot kids in the video!
They think this **** is for real!
They are deadpan serious.
This crap is dangerous. Shame on Herman Cain for making the process even MORE OF A JOKE for his own personal gain.
The excerpt from this event that I heard yesterday on public radio was Colbert explaining to the students how bad the Supreme Court decision was which held that corporations could make political contributions, just as unions do.
I am shocked that Cain would cooperate with this, given that he headed a corporation, unless he really doesn’t care any more about anything other than himself. What a sell-out, or a fool, or both.
“Colbert used the event to mock the influence of money in politics, particularly a Supreme Court ruling in 2010 and the presence of super PACs.
The ruling qualified corporations as people, meaning they had free speech rights and can spend as much as they would like on political campaigns.
‘If corporations are people, then I’m a people person,’ Colbert said at the rally.”
The entire point, summed up in the article, is likely lost on the students at the rally.
It appears to me that Herman Cain has mental health issues.
On the plus side, as SC is crossover state, all Cain votes will come out of the hide of Romney and Paul.
Colbert's ears. Man, those ears. They look at me. They follow me around the room. Especially the one on his right. It looks like it fell off at some point and was slapped back on with super glue. The other one is normal. It is right there where it should be. All happy.
Colbert is a leprechaun or some kind of elf. No question about it. He is an elf! And we all know about elfs! They hate Newts!
There is nothing to laugh at here, as the big joke is on those who supported this clown.
Well now that Cain’s book tour that was badly disguised as a presidential run is over, he’s got to do something to get attention.
First it was the silly “I endorse we the people” cop out, now it’s appearing with Colbert to essentially attack an entirely correct Supreme Court decision.
Herman is approaching clown territory. I still feel sorry for all the people he fooled into sending him their hard earned money. All those folks accomplished was paying Herman’s way around the country so he could sell his book and perhaps stay in the limelight long enough to get a TV gig or a better radio slot.
Probably be some ladies around too. If ya gots the hat, then you likes ‘em phat.
I really can’t stand Colbert. His entire schtick is to mock conservatives by pretending to be one himself. The fact that he isn’t funny in the slightest just makes him that much more annoying.
