Officials said turnout was heavy in Greenville County precincts that are traditionally Republican. Heavy turnout was reported at both the Brushy Creek and Powdersville precincts in Pickens County.

Cherokee, Greenwood, Laurens, Newberry and Union counties reported light-to-steady turnout, officials said.

Turnout was fairly heavy in my precinct on the eastside of Greenville. I think a lot of people realized that conservatives must unite around one candidate.
