Marrying your mistress is not the same thing as repentence. Repentence would be returning to the wife that you wronged and saying you were wrong to cheat on her.

But then what do I know? I’m just a Catholic.

BTW- the Pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth. He’s considered to be a moral paragon at least for Catholics.

With your posting history over the last two weeks, I’d saay you’re a small “c” Catholic, as in cino. Deception and agitprop are your methodologies.

You made a very odd reply to me yesterday on the subject of marriage.

And yesterday I vowed not to argue with a Catholic.

I also vowed not to use my husband’s handicap placard when I can walk.

I find it a convoluted moral strategy to say that because Rick Santorum’s wife ONLY LIVED with an old dude for 6 years but never married him, she is somehow more fit to marry than someone who had a previous marriage.

This seems like serious nit-picking to me and I am about to go post something on the door of the Vatican like Martin Luther did.

That’s bullcrap. The church examines everything. Past marraiges as well as his relationship with Calista. If they determined that his relationship with Calista did not fall within the guidlines of Canon Law for the Sacrament of Marraige, they would never have allowed them to marry in the Church.

Repentance would be asking God for forgiveness. To which He said He would grant it. No need for popes or confessionals or Catholic doctrine. You are confusing “religion” for faith. It's nice for you that you believe in “religion”, but here is what Jesus said (not the pope, not a priest, not some denominational doctrine, but Jesus Himself:

Mark 11:
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[f] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” [26] [g]
