“I’d love to see Newt and Clinton, I think they could talk 24 hrs straight and not even break a sweat”

Isn’t that the truth????? I absolutely love listening to Gingrich speak. It’s like sitting thru a college class with the professor I never had. One thing Newt has over Clinton is that he articulates his thoughts in complete sentences. Clinton. speaks. one. word. at. a. time.

Big difference is I do think Newt is a lot more naturally honest than Clinton. He doesn’t try to parse his words and a topic rarely comes up that he is unwilling to talk about or give you his opinion on. This may be the quality that some people spin as a negative, like Santorum tried to do this week, where they say Newt will say unexpected things you’ll see in the paper next day. It’s because Newt’s a creative thinker, an open mind and will basically think out loud instead of waiting until he has a prepared, focus-grouped statement. I actually see that as much more of a problem as Speaker than as President. Newt is the CEO as President and everyone has to follow his lead. As Speaker, he would have had to have come to an agreement with his members and then stuck to a specific message to avoid ticking them off. No such problem as President. He’s the boss and if he changes his mind, he simply orders the rest of the executive branch to change with him.

I think Clinton is beter at creating a connection with the audience. It’s like he’s talking directly to you.

When Newt went off on John King on Thursday he used one of Clinton’s moves and did the finger wag. Classic. I was waiting for him to say “I did not have an open marriage with that woman”.

I’m just thinking that if Newt beats Obama we will end up with Newt vs Hillary in 2016 and that might just end up as the final showdown for the future. Newt vs the Clintons for all the marbles.
